Jennifer Pearson Medlin is a registered patent attorney and is licensed to practice in the State Bar of North Carolina. Her practice is focused on securing intellectual property protection and client counseling in general, preparation and prosecution of U.S. and international patent applications, developing strategies for aligning IP rights with business objectives, IP licensing, including due diligence analysis, negotiation of IP terms in merger/acquisition and supplier/vendor contracts, and validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate opinions.Jennifer has also managed outside counsel and negotiated IP terms as part of mergers, acquisitions, and supplier/vendor contracts.

Jennifer has secured U.S. and foreign protection for inventions in the electrical, computer, mechanical, and medical device arts. She has focused her practice on technical areas involving telecommunications, internet applications, software, business processes, power systems, optics, semiconductors, and antennas. Over 12 years as an IP attorney, she has worked with small and large businesses and educational institutions.Prior to joining the firm, Jennifer was in-house patent counsel for BellSouth Intellectual Property Corporation, where she managed outside counsel. She also practiced as Of Counsel at an IP Boutique and was a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
